The Ball transforms into a refined parlor of the late nineteenth century: from the most significant cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach, which open the program with their balance and intensity, to the sonata in C major KV521 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, among the most complex and brilliant written for this formation and a testament to his inexhaustible imagination. We continue with the romantic style of Johannes Brahms, evoked by the famous waltzes op. 39, small jewels of grace and melancholy that recall the atmosphere of the musical salons of the time, suspended between intimacy and lightness. To conclude, a tribute to Georges Bizet, on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of his death, with the brilliant fantasy on Carmen composed by the German Otto Singer, which collects and reinterprets the most famous themes of the opera, restoring all its liveliness and timeless charm.
