Here is the story of Babar, the little elephant born in the forest but later raised in the city!
Because listening to the story of the little elephant Babar, behind the door, was Cécile's husband, Jean Le Bruhnoff, who in 1931 wrote and illustrated it, to the joy of many other children.
A few years later, a little girl who loved the story of Babar gave her uncle a copy of the book, asking him to set it to music. The uncle was the composer Francis Poulenc, who turned it into a masterpiece. So here you have the story of Babar, the little elephant born in the forest but then raised in the city: a charming and elegant little novel, a metaphor about the ongoing search for one's identity and the importance of curiosity, kindness, and perseverance.
