Passion. Tango is a complex world, made of music, dance, lyrics, and song. But it is passion that turns it into art.
Born in the late 1800s in Argentina in the metropolises, it quickly becomes a popular expression that bursts into society achieving global success, so much so that on September 30, 2009, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage as "Intangible Cultural Heritage that personifies cultural diversity, dialogue, and the essence of a community."
No one knows who gave the name tango to this musical genre, nor is it exactly known why it is called this way. Originally, it blends together Creole, Cuban music, and rhythms like habanera and milonga until it reaches the synthesis capable of making the most intimate strings of our heart vibrate.
The wonderful Argentine singer Ivanna Speranza and the musicians of the ESTEMPORANEA Ensemble will guide us through the essence of tango, without forgetting some nearby genres like milonga, vals criollo, and habanera.
