Arianna Stornello

Arianna Stornello approaches music at the age of four within the school of the Piccoli Cantori di Torino. She studies clarinet at the Conservatorio di Torino and later dedicates herself to singing, while also graduating with honors in "Intercultural Communication" from the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Turin.
She begins studying singing under the direction of Alessandra Cordero and participates in advanced courses with Yva Barthélémy, Mirella Freni, Erik Battaglia, and Valentina Valente.
She deepens her study and practice of ancient and baroque repertoire with Sara Mingardo, Barbara Zanichelli, Alessio Tosi, Gemma Bertagnolli, Monica Piccinini, and baroque gesturality with Deda Cristina Colonna.
She graduates brilliantly in Lyric Singing and with full marks in Chamber Vocal Music at the Conservatorio di Torino under the guidance of M° Erik Battaglia and regularly performs at the Unione Musicale di Torino (Schubertiadi, Beethoven Festival, L'altro suono).
She receives important awards in international competitions such as the prestigious "Francesco Provenzale" competition at the Pietà dei Turchini in Naples (third prize) and the "International Voice Competition Renata Tebaldi" in San Marino in the ancient/baroque repertoire section (third prize). Winner of the "DucaleLab" competition announced by the Orchestra Camerata Ducale, she performs at the Viotti Festival in Vercelli in a duo with pianist Cristina Laganà, with whom she has been collaborating since 2014, dedicating herself to the repertoire
of German, French, and Italian lieder from the classical era to the present day, winning the 4th prize (silver category) in the International Chamber Singing Competition "Seghizzi." Winner of the
Talenti Musicali scholarship, CRT Foundation – Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" di Torino, she attended the advanced specialization course in lyric singing held by Sara Mingardo
at the "Scuola di Musica del Garda".
She performs in concert form both in Italy and abroad with various ensembles such as La Venexiana, Concerto Italiano, Il Pomo d'oro, Mare Nostrum – Stradella J-project, Accademia del Ricercare, Camerata Barocca Musicaviva, Rossoporpora, Musici di Santa Pelagia, the Accademia del Santo Spirito, Accademia dei Solinghi, Accademia del Ricercare, Coin du Roi, and the Orchestre de Chambre de la Vallée d'Aoste.

She has made several appearances in operatic roles from the baroque repertoire: she is invited to the first edition of the European Day of Early Music in Copenhagen and with the ensemble "Le Humane Virtù" participates in the staging of "Dido and Aeneas" by Henry Purcell with performances in Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. Among the roles she has interpreted, we remember Bastiana in "Bastien und Bastienne" by W.A. Mozart, Atalanta in "Serse" by G. F. Handel at the Teatro Litta in Milan and the historic Teatro Goldoni in Venice, as well as Second Woman in "Dido and Aeneas" commissioned by the Riga Early Music Festival. Recently, she debuted in "Orfeo" by Monteverdi at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona under the direction of Hernan Schvartzman and the direction of Luigi De Angelis in the triple role of Music, Messenger, and Proserpina. As a selected singer for the prestigious Vadstena Akademien, she participates in the first modern staging of "Il colore fa la regina," an opera by Carlo Francesco Pollarolo, interpreting the title role written for castrato soprano voice, under the direction of Mariangiola Martello.
She has recorded for Sony, Classic Voice, Stradivarius, Urania Records, and recently recorded for Glossa the first complete edition of "Orfeo" by Luigi Rossi and "La Flora" by Marco da Gagliano together with the ensemble
Allabastrina directed by Elena Sartori.
